What’s Up!

In this painting called What is Up, is an image of a homeless man walks forward toward you, holding a cigarette and wearing a torn tank-top T-shirt.

Perception and interpretation intertwine; as they do, they filter the meaning of life and ask questions about who, what, and where one is. This self-portrait questions if the stranger within knows if to show himself as confident.  Images are created, and often, that idea of self is not a confident person. Optimism prevails, and expressions take the front seat.
