African American Visual Artist

Undergraduate years,

I focused on how lines form shapes, how shapes create images, and how each of these elements gives rise to new forms of expression.

Graduate years,

I rely on knowledge that expressive imagery is a symbol, an impressionistic form that provides access to viewing the layered emotions that influence our beliefs.

As a Professional,

I now understand that capturing the visual form derived from historical knowledge is the essence of conveying that psychological impact. That impact is the foundation of stories, and the source of connecting with the viewer and their voyeuristic mindset.
